Key motivators for driving work performance amid COVID-19 in developing nations

The influence of HR policies on work performance and achievement of organisational goals are established in the literature and continues to gain importance. However, the key motivators for driving work performance amid exigencies by utilising HR policies effectively for meeting the employees' expectations and organisational goals remain largely untapped. Using aspects of HR policies namely- compensation and benefits, leadership communication competency, flexible work practices, use of tech tools and physical work environment for employees amid medical exigency situation on a global level, the present study examines the key motivators of driving work performance during COVID-19 crisis. Compensation and benefits, flexible work practices, communication competency of leaders appeared to have the strongest influence on work performance. The paper is an attempt to sensitise the employers, so that they are prepared well in advance to bring out the best amid crisis like pandemic COVID-19.
